THE TROUBLE WITH 'SNAFELL'
So far I have two photographs, but very little information, relating to "Snafell" (number 48 in my modern photos). The little information is at least slightly amusing:
The trouble was, Francis Wolfe of Whitehaven, who had built the bungalow, had not realised that even little wooden structures on the beach needed planning permission. Happily, his neat if belated plan (by C.E. Jackson), submitted in December 1923 and accompanied by a suitably chastened apology "for any Inconvenience it may have Caused" [his underline] had the desired effect.
