PLAS ISA, BRAYSTONES

 To menu page

This page is likely to grow quite a lot as the beach bungalows project develops, because 'Plas Isa' was owned by the same family, the Davidsons, for many years, and by about the 1950s had become the site of a small business providing cooking facilities and tea for weekend visitors.

To begin with, however, here's a 1943 photo supplied by Tom Dalzell, whose family used to visit 'Latona', a couple of doors south, very frequently in the 1930s and 1940s- Tom's the one in the black pullover, tucked in next to his mum. I've also provided a detail from another of Tom's photos (with some left-over parts of people edited out) showing more of the frontage, in 1937. You can find some of Tom's memories of the Davidsons on the ''Latona' page.
Incidentally, this old frontage is still more-or-less intact in 2006, but the veranda has been enclosed to turn it into an extra room.
