UNEXPECTED VISITORS TO BRAYSTONES

Following my talk with the Hensons of 'Lobster Pot', Muriel Henson contacted their friend Barbara Copley, who has kindly provided these photographs of the aeroplane which landed on the sand at Braystones, and another unexpected arrival.

Preparations to turn the aircraft round so that it can take off into the wind, with the aid of Barbara's husband Derek Copley and his tractor. [This photo has been very slightly digitally enhanced]



The aeroplane makes a safe take-off from the sand.



Can anybody explain what was going on here? Was this a pipe, or a boom? Was it going to Sellafield? [Adrian Melia suggests it looks like a wave-power device]
