PEWS IN ST. CATHERINE'S CHAPEL, ESKDALE

The first of these two lists of pew entitlements is undated, but appears with material from about 1760. The second is dated 1827, and was compiled by Robert Powley, then curate. I have not attempted to match the two lists, simply presented them in their original order.
The chapel derived an income from each each of the 80 listed seats or "rooms", varied each year according to need (e.g. 1777 11.5d, 1780 9d, 1787 1s 5d, 1798 11d)
