RECORDS OF THE ESKDALE MANOR COURT

To Eskdale index

These abtracts from the Eskdale manor court records are being compiled in reverse order, starting with the fairly scanty entries from the 19th century (originals kept by the Leconfield Estates, available to order through Whitehaven Record Office; ref. D/Lec/Box 94: Eskdale jury verdicts). If it gets too large, I'll separate the different categories of information, but for the time being, it's all in a lump. I have not listed all jurors for the 19th century, only those whose place of residence is given. Also, where the names of court officials and the court venue are repeated from year to year, reference is made to a sample year,e.g. "as 09"
